Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral cameras are invaluable diagnostic pieces of equipment that allow Dr. Pointer to closely look at your teeth for diagnostic purposes. Utilizing these cameras also serve as an excellent educational tool that helps patient better understand their personal oral health. High resolution Intraoral camera images are transmitted to monitors in each treatment operatory so that Dr. Pointer may discuss any issues you may have during your appointment.

Digital X-Rays

Panoramic dental x-rays on computer

X-rays are an essential part of dentistry, allowing our team to discover problematic conditions and damage that may be well-hidden under the smile’s surface. Unfortunately, the traditional film method of capturing these images left much to be desired. Today, Dr. Pointer has invested in digital radiography and its countless valuable advantages. For instance, instead of having to wait on tedious darkroom development, digital X-rays are available on our computer system for viewing within seconds of capture. They also expose our patients to much less radiation – up to 90% less, in fact – than the older system, which makes them safer as well.

CT / Cone Beam Scanner

While digital X-rays do an incredible job at giving our team a more comprehensive view of your oral health needs, their scope can be somewhat limited at times. That’s why Dr. Pointer regularly utilizes his revolutionary cone beam scanner in order to capture panoramic, three-dimensional renderings of his patients’ smiles and related facial structures. The results of these scans are so in-depth that we can even map out of the locations of sinuses and facial nerves with excellent accuracy, maximizing the success of your treatment in the process.
